Recipe: Sweet & Spicy Soya Sauce
3 Meal Ideas using Sweet & Spicy Soya Sauce
Not much going on in my head this week. I’m still keenly thinking about how to actually make money on social media. Stay tuned I guess? Regardless of the path I choose, I’ll still put out 1 recipe for free in this newsletter each week. Nothing will change here!
Here’s a versatile sauce that I’ve been enjoying lately. I made a double batch and have kept it in my fridge. I’m a bit hyperfixated tbh, and if you make it, I hope you’ll see why.
Sweet & Spicy Soya Sauce
Prep time: 5 minutes
Tools:
A bowl
Ingredients
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp white sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/3 cup soya sauce
Method
In a large bowl: combine the green onion, chili powder, sugar, garlic, and sesame oil. Mix together so the flavours combine nicely before adding the soya sauce.
Add the soya sauce. Mix well.
That’s it! This keeps in the fridge for weeks. Scroll down for some recipe ideas on how you can use this sauce :)

For the notes this time, let’s talk about some ideas of how you can use this sauce:
Meal Idea 1: Cold Tofu. Pour this sauce over some cold soft tofu. It makes for a great snack, or a proper meal if served with rice and steamed veggies.
Meal Idea 2: Salad. Use this sauce for a nice Asian-inspired salad. For example, I recently used this sauce for a tomato & tofu & rice salad.
Meal Idea 3: Tasty Rice. Put this sauce in your rice cooker or pot the next time you make rice. It’ll make your rice come out extra tasty.
Ok, not really a full meal - but hopefully you get the idea. It’s a versatile sauce.
Bonus Meal Idea: Use this as a dipping sauce for steamed veggies. Or pour it directly over the veggies.
Chili powder: Sub for chili flakes. Or omit if you don’t enjoy spice.
Sesame oil: Sub for peanut oil if you’d like. Ideally, don’t, haha. The sesame flavour really helps make this sauce what it is.
White sugar: Sub for brown sugar.
